Fucking amazing. But also too long. Rebecca Yarros, I love you, but girl — an editor is your friend.
Everything I adore about this series was here: the dragons, the tension, the stakes, Violet being a badass, Tairn being the best fictional creature in existence. The world continued to expand, the venin threat got more terrifying, and the relationships deepened in ways that had me clutching my chest.
But it DRAGGED in places. There were sections where I was begging the plot to move forward, and for a series that usually has me flying through pages, that was noticeable.
And that ending. THAT ENDING. Rebecca Yarros, I hate you. (Not really. But really.) Another cliffhanger that left me staring at my ceiling, questioning my life choices, and desperately needing book four IMMEDIATELY. This woman has made a career out of emotionally destroying her readers and I keep coming back for more like the clown I am.
Can't wait for the next one. Will absolutely be reading it day one. Will absolutely be angry about the pacing again. The cycle continues.
