These twisted sisters know exactly what they're doing to their readers and they feel ZERO remorse about it. Every chapter was an emotional ambush. Every time something good happened I was bracing for the gut-punch because by book 8, I KNOW how this works. Hope is a trap. Joy is temporary. Suffering is the only constant in Solaria.
It took me almost a month to get through this one — not because it was bad, but because I needed emotional breaks between sessions. You can't binge-read heartbreak. Your body won't let you.
