This book broke me. That's not a figure of speech. It BROKE me.
I don't have the emotional capacity to elaborate further. Whatever these authors did in this installment — they chose maximum violence against the reader and succeeded. I went in already bruised from books 4, 5, and 6, and came out the other side a hollow shell of a person.
The 3.5 rating isn't because it was bad. It's because I can't rate something higher when it caused me genuine psychological distress. Quality? Incredible. Did I enjoy the experience of reading it? That's a complicated question I'm not prepared to answer.
💔 3.5/5 stars. I'm not okay. Don't ask follow-up questions.
