THIS BOOK ATE AND LEFT NO CRUMBS.

The FMC — a human raised by a vampire king, fighting in deadly trials against creatures that could snap her in half — had me from page one. Her bravery? Unmatched. Her goals? Clear. Her absolute STUPIDITY for trusting the MMC? I was screaming "GIRL NO" while also turning the page faster because I needed to see how badly this was going to blow up in her face.

And blow up it DID. The betrayal. THE BETRAYAL. I will not spoil it but I will say I felt it in my CHEST. The kind of gut-punch that makes you set the book down, stare at a wall, and then immediately pick it back up because you need to know what happens next.

The vampire daddy (her ACTUAL adoptive father, the king) was such a fascinating dynamic. The trials were brutal and creative. The worldbuilding around Nyaxia's courts had me fully immersed. And the audiobook narration? IMPECCABLE. Whoever did the voice work understood the assignment on a molecular level.

The only reason this isn't a 5 is because I think I needed just a LITTLE more from the romance to push it over the edge. But everything else? Devoured.

🐍 4/5 stars. Betrayal has never tasted so good.
